Recruiting the Neighborhood Kids

So, sometimes I get some fairly random ideas on how we can spend a Saturday morning. Last year (well, in the fall of 2010), before Jimmer Fredette's senior year (you know, Jimmer, the guy who won every national collegiate basketball award for the 2010-2011 season), we decided to do some BYU promoting in our neighborhood. Obviously, I couldn't do it myself. And without any little tykes to help me out, I had to go recruiting. We ended up with quite the crew.

Once we have our own kids running around, I'm sure Sara will make sure that we are equal opportunity parents (thus giving the kids the choice to put up University of Utah stickers in addition to the BYU ones--in our neighborhood, the fans are split just about 50/50. Think of all the hoops we will be to tag! Good times ahead. Gotta love the fun stuff that I convince the neighborhood kids to participate in. It is always a good time.

Special thanks to my good friend TJ Fredette for letting us use the track. In case you didn't know, the entire Fredette family is awesome (we even went to dinner with them last night). We love 'em. You should definitely check out TJ's music at his website: http://www.tjfredette.com - highly recommended. Good, clean hip hop. Additional thanks to Aaron White for putting the video together. What a fun day that was.

As the song says, we're (California) dreaming for the day that we have our own kids to tow around the neighborhood and slap random stickers on (un)suspecting people's backboards.
